What is Mindfulness, and Why is it Important?
Mindfulness is sustained, conscious presence—the natural ability to be directly aware of what is happening in the present moment—both internally, in our bodies and minds, and externally, in the world around us. This natural ability is critical to our survival, success and wellbeing. And when strengthened through practice, mindfulness becomes a powerful tool that can enhance our lives in every dimension, and be applied to any situation or objective.
Why Do We Need Mindfulness Training?
Mindfulness is weakened by longstanding habits of filtering, judgment, emotion and distraction. While these, too, are important natural functions, they are easily distorted by the pressures of life. Rather than serving us, they become harsh masters, filling our lives with anxiety, stress
